All free kicks are taken from the place where the offence occurred, except:

- Yellow card: simulationfoul-sanction
- Direct free kick + yellow card: showing a lack of respect for the gamefoul-sanction
- Taken from where the offence occurredfree-kick
- From the nearest point on the goal area linefree-kick
- Anywhere in that goal areafree-kick
- From where the ball was when play was stoppedfree-kick
- Deliberate trick: indirect free kick, and a caution for whoever initiated itgoalkeeper-offences
- Caution: unsporting behaviour, simulationmisconduct
- Goal disallowed: scored off the scorer's own hand or armhandball
- On the boundary line nearest to the offencefree-kick
- Penalty kickfree-kick
